Suffolk Cruse Bereavement Care

COVID-19 Update – we are continuing to support clients and will be doing so by phone. We are discontinuing face to face contact.

Somewhere to turn when someone has died

Death is a part of life and grieving is a natural process. The death of a significant person can be a devastating loss. Everyone experiences grief differently and there is no ‘normal’ or ‘right’ way to grieve. How we react will be influenced by many different things, including our age and personality, our cultural background and religious beliefs, our previous experiences of bereavement, our circumstances and how we cope with loss.

Cruse is committed to breaking the stigma around grief and ensuring that everyone, no matter how old or young, can access the highest quality support following a bereavement.

On this website you will find out how you can contact us if you are bereaved and looking for help, as well as links to further information about grief for adults and children. In Suffolk, our four Cruse branches each have trained and experienced volunteers who work alongside the bereaved, to listen and support and to provide practical advice. Some areas run regular bereavement support groups and we can also offer some practical help connected with a death.

Our national service provides phone support through the Daytime Helpline  on 0808 808 1677 as well as email support from helpline@cruse.org.uk.

For children & young people we offer a Young People’s Helpline and Young People’s website which you can find at Hope Again. We have a team of volunteers who are trained to work with children and young people up to the age of 17 based in Ipswich. Parents, carers, older teenagers and professionals working with children please call our helpline 01473 230888 for information about the service or Contact Us.
